Do I need a Script?

It depends…  In the state of Missouri, we are able to perform movement screens, develop training programs, and provide you with educational resources without a physical therapy script.  If you wish to receive manual therapy, such as joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage, or dry needling, however, you will need to obtain a script.  Physical therapy scripts can come from your primary care physician, nurse practitioner, specialist (ortho, PM&R), urgent care MD, chiropractor, or dentist.  Telemedicine is also a great option for conveniently obtaining a physical therapy script.

What will my first visit look like?

The goal of the first session to is to get to know you and make sure you feel comfortable in our setting.  We will start by obtaining a medical history and discussing any goals you may have.  Next, we will perform a movement screen and prescribe corrective exercises that are most appropriate for you.  We will be sure to leave plenty of time at the end to answer any questions you may have!

We recommend that you wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to exercise in.  We also recommend clothing that allows us to see the area of the body we will be treating.  For example, please wear shorts for knee evaluations and clothing that exposes the shoulder blades for shoulder evaluations.
